None of us will ever forget the dark days of lockdown and the challenges it brought. In such times, many music groups, societies and musicians were coming up with inspiring ways to keep occupied, keep in touch and, let's face it, keep going. As a composer and musician, Tim's idea was to launch a competition for composers of organ music for anyone to enter who had the time and might need a bit of inspiration to get started. Immediately the call went out asking for any potential sponsors Tony Packer, from Aspire Classical Organs, responded saying they would be delighted to get involved and we are very pleased to say that they have gone on to sponsor the prize money for all six of the competitions we have run to date.
It was clear from the start that we at Tim Knight Music and Aspire Classical Organs both shared the same passion for promoting music, musicians and, most of all, inspiring the next generation to keep church and organ music alive.
So, when Tim's next idea was broached to them of possibly having one of their organs in our new Studio in Leeds to use for teaching, recitals and practice sessions, Tony thought it was an excellent idea and promptly arrived on our doorstep from Wales with a beautiful new Ensign Compact 35 which is now happily installed and ready for use!
